The eleventh edition of this casebook modernizes and streamlines the materials to focus more effectively on the study of criminal law. The new edition carves out a separate chapter on self-defense, defense of property, and defense of others, while otherwise maintaining the structure of the book from prior editions. Multiple chapters have been reworked to eliminate older cases and notes to make the book more accessible to both teachers and students. The authors have also updated the introductory materials to provide students with the most current picture and statistics about what is really happening in the American criminal justice system.
