The book describes a method for analyzing and improving individual writing style includes a sample analysis. It also includes new material on using plain English and new legal documents to illustrate effective writing techniques.

6. Chapter 9, Punctuation and Grammar, now include comparisons with Strunk & White, The Elements of Style, to highlight the differences, with the Micro-Grammar moved to Appendix B
7. Chapter 10, Final Steps, is entirely new, and includes editing, revising, proofreading, use of quotations and citations
8. Appendix A is new, containing a new set of samples of legal writing, used throughout the text
